if they had gone, that wooda been the headlines. They'd a won the Iron Men, the Renos, and that one in Hopewells too, just we were too busy wrestling other places! Districts Regions and States is ours tho! You can't duck Orange!! We got new coaches, and a new attitude. Tell Cox to look out next year!

You sound silly man, and I really don't get your point. They haven't gone over-the-top like that with anything they said, and quite frankly - they are pretty good. They just need to raise the level of their competition if they want to be talked about with the big boys, I do believe they could be competitive with a number of top 10 AA and AAA teams.

I am stunned by the amount of hate.
They have not said anything like that, all they are is excited about a very young team who is 14-0 right now.
They understand the challenges that lie ahead and they are the most active on a forum that for the most part is very quiet.
I guess they could say nothing and we can come to this board once per week and see the same non posts on here. I am happy they are doing well, maybe they will be great in a year or 2, maybe not, either way they are out there wrestling, have a winning record and posting results, which is not exactly a strong point on this forum unfortunately.

Matman1, you are incorrect. I am very good friends with a particular coach down there, but no way on comepting with top 10 teams yet, not saying you wouldn't be competitive, but I'm saying you wouldn't win. Still too young man, but I'm sure with who's down there things will progress and we WILL be saying this eventually, and it'll be just back to where it was when I was in HS, maybe better.
To quote Stepbrothers- "I remember my first beer".. well, you had your first win. Stop announcing it and keep up the good work and continue on with life, eventually people will know, you wont have to announce it every 3 days.

NWwrestler07, I agree with a lot of what you said. However, I just want to say one thing and ask another....
First, I am not "with" Orange.
Secondly, who are your top 10 AA teams?

I think I kind of agree with nw... I do not think KingOrange is "hating", I think he's just parodying, to get a point across. OC seems, on paper, to have quite a formidable team. But, when an "above average" team wrestles only "average" to "below average" competition, of course records are gonna be padded. That, in no way, is a put-down, or knock on who they have wrestled, it just is what it is. You simply have to wrestle better competition in order to get better. A kid getting his butt whipped a few times a year is better for the long haul than wrestling inexperienced boys and winning by fall in under 2 or 3 minutes and going into regions or states with bloated, 25, 30, or 35-0 or only 2-4 losses (see Christiansburg, Grundy, Fauquier wrestlers, mentioned as they were 1-2-3 at states, they all, with a few exceptions like Devin Carter, had double-digit or near double digit losses, and even the state champs on those teams had between 4-10 or 12 losses). To get tough, you have to see what tough is. I do agree that posting results is a very good thing, it's just the over-the-top "look at me, me ,me" mentality is a tad grating. Beat a top 15 or 20 team a few times, and it'll speak for itself. You will not have to beg for attention. I promise.

pffan, you make good points, but KingOrange is just plain juvenile and silly. I don't think Orange has made any official statements about how good they are or are not. It appears others have. I don't think anyone can state anything of real value about their ability unless they (OCHS) prove it by wrestling top-level talent.
Now with that said, I seen them at Kettle Run and they are pretty good. Based on their dual meet scores, they appear to be the best of the Jefferson District and one of the top teams in R2. I will pose the same question to you, who are your top AA teams?

1. Christiansburg (of course) 2. Grundy (the gap below here falls off) 3. Fauquier (though a little light at 103, 119, 125, 140, & upper 3) 4. New Kent (losing Schultz hurts alot, otherwise as good as FHS) 5. Staunton River (very well coached, tough at 8 or 9 weights) 6. Millbrook 7. Poquoson 8. Blacksburg 9. R.E. Lee 10. James Wood
In my opinion, 5-10 could be interchangeable, and there are several teams, Orange, Brentsville, Brookeville, Freedom, and Potomac Falls included, who have a chance at cracking the top 10...

Appears to be very reasonable and well thought out.
Thanks for the input.

Matman, I suppose I'll take back what I said about New Kent being almost as good as Fauquier. Fauquier apparently manhandled them at the New Kent Duals tonight, beating them something like 53-14, with 6 of NK's points coming off of a Fauquier forfeit at 112. Also, looks like Paine is going 119 instead of 112, as I heard he wrestled every match for Fauquier at 119 tonight.

I heard New Kent bumped many of their wrestlers up a weight class when they wrestled Fauquier at the Trojan Duals. Is that true?
