Here is a message from Cavalier Wrestling Club President Jim Harshaw.
School is in, football is underway but more importantly, CWC is ready to launch into another season!
It's hard to believe that wrestling season is just around the corner! We're looking forward to another record setting year (we had more wrestlers on the CWC Youth and Middle school teams last year than ever before). We have a new addition to the CWC staff via UVA's new hire in Jordan Leen, an NCAA champion from Cornell University. Watch his video interview that I conducted with him last week and you'll see that he will fit our motto of teaching life lessons through sport. He's a great guy and an even better coach! We are truly luck to have him. Unfortunately, we won't have the services of Coach Eareckson with our middle school this year or Coach Bernstein with the youth team, as both moved out of the area to accept new jobs. Further, Brent Jones, Ross Gitomer and Manny Rivera who were present at a lot of practices have moved on as well. Given their opportunity, who can blame them! Brent is training full-time at the Olympic Training Center, Ross accpeted a coaching and teaching job at St. Christopher's School in Richmond and Manny accepted the head assistant position with North Dakota State University. Nonetheless, we've been through changes before and our amazing community of coaches, athletes, parents and fans have always stepped up where necessary. I'll be spending more time with the youth program this winter. Coach Clemsen and Coach Leen will be spending more time at practice with the middle school athletes. We'll also be able to take more advantage of the many dad's with wrestling experience (some with college experience!) to help out where necessary.

WINTER SESSION (Middle School at UVA): Nov 28 Feb 23, 2012- Every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8 PM, $125
WINTER SESSION (Youth at Albemarle HS Wrestling Room)- Nov 28- Feb 23, 2012- Every Monday and Thursday from 6:30-8 PM, $125
SUNDAY ELITE at UVA Wrestling Room: Dec 12, 2010-Feb 13, 2012- Every Sunday from 11-12:30 $140
SPRING SESSION at UVA: March 6- May 10, 2012- Every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-8 PM, $145

Isn't this the time when high schoolers are getting prepared for compitition. Its kinda hard to turn up the intensity for 15,16 or 17 year old when a 7,8 and 9 year old is playing romper room. Help me understand the logic?
